Good to Know Like all Tella Rossa stone, that distinctive purple color comes straight from the source — a siltstone and sandstone formation in the Culpeper Basin where iron-rich sediments oxidized over hundreds of millions of years during the Triassic and Jurassic periods. The same quarry site is home to one of the largest collections of dinosaur tracks ever discovered in North America. A little prehistory in every yard.
At 3/8″, this is a finer stone than our Tella Rossa #57 — if you need a larger size for driveways or base work, the #57 is the better fit.
