About This Product Crusher Run — also known as 21-A — is a compactable mix of crushed stone and stone dust that locks together when compacted to form a firm, stable base. Unlike loose decorative stone, this material is designed to be packed down and stay put, making it one of the most practical and widely used base materials around. Locally sourced right here in Virginia.

Good to Know Crusher Run performs best when compacted — hand tamping works well for smaller projects, but a plate compactor will really tighten it up and give you the firmest, most durable base possible. Keep in mind this material is designed for base work, not drainage. While it does allow some water movement, the stone dust fills the voids that make open-graded stone like #57 so effective for drainage. For a dedicated drainage solution, our Spotsy #57 is the better fit.
